ABOUT US
OUR FUTURE
Today, there are more options than ever before to disseminate information, and many of them are competing with print on paper.
As price and demand for printing continue to trend downward, printing companies struggle to retain profitability. Recently, like many companies, Shelton Turnbull has addressed this challenge by reducing costs, increasing efficiencies and reducing waste. However, this internal focus must be combined with an external initiative so that market opportunities are not missed.
Printers will have to become more engaged in their customers' businesses so that they fully understand each customer's current and future needs. This will allow printers to be more proactive in offering services, either print or ancillary services that will continue to meet the dynamic needs of their customers. Some of these ancillary services include digital asset management (including "digital storefronts"), database management, variable data printing (VDP), mailing, fulfillment, interactive media, creative design and web design.
Shelton Turnbull plans to continue to update and improve its current offset printing business. In addition, a major focus for the future will be to grow VDP and "on-demand" printing, establish digital storefronts, along with mailing and fulfillment services.
The ability to print exact quantities needed and highly personalized messages is the method by which the printing industry can compete with the rapid delivery of information provided by non-print media. In recent years, digital print quality has improved to the point where it competes favorably with traditional printing methods. "On-demand" and VDP printing technologies will continue to improve in the future as market demand for this type of printing continues to grow.
A full commitment to offering on-demand printing services requires investing the necessary resources in digital presses, trained staff and developing Internet based ordering systems ("digital storefronts"). The integration of the Internet and printing represent the basis of the business model for this contemporary printing service.
Shelton Turnbull has successfully adopted this model. By offering mail services and fulfillment, Shelton Turnbull is able to provide a higher level of customer support and more effectively meet our customers' current and emerging communication needs.
Combining these strategic investments with our core competencies which include customer service (availability, speed in delivery and "one-stop shop") and technical expertise (in the areas of digital and information technology)...Shelton Turnbull plans to continue to meet the needs of our growing customer base for many years to come.
